August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) and we here at Community Safety & Engagement Cowichan would like to say today on International Overdose Awareness Day, we stand together declaring it’s time for a change. We are showing up, speaking up, and saying loudly – Let’s end overdose!

Island Health and the International Overdose Awareness Day campaign have provided tribute pages to honor loved ones who have been lost to overdose.

You can see posts from families and leave your own.

Do you or someone you know use drugs? Consider Going to an overdose prevention site so staff can monitor for drug poisoning and overdose.
