On Friday, December 15th 2023. The RCMP’s Indigenous Policing Services brought the IPS Canoe:
“TL’CHES SPIRIT” for our Christmas – Capsize a Canoe Food Drive in support of the Cowichan Valley Basket Society.
A special thank you to RCMP’s Indigenous Policing Services, Cowichan Community Policing, South Cowichan Community Policing, M’akola Housing Society, The Real Canadian Superstore and the Cowichan Valley Basket Society as each of these organizations played a significant role in both the planning and contributions that made this event possible.
This event took place at The Real Canadian Superstore – 291 Cowichan Way, Duncan, BC V9L 4T8.
Thanks to the collective efforts of all participants, the initiative successfully gathered 1900lbs of food and received $1050.00 in cash donations. These generous contributions ensure that no individual or family in the Cowichan Valley will experience hunger in any aspect—physically, spiritually, or emotionally.
