Police officers spend the majority of their time responding to calls for service and conducting ongoing investigative follow up. When time allows\, officers are in the community proactively working on crime reduction initiatives.  Some examples of previous crime reduction initiatives include enhanced foot patrols in the down town business areas\, traffic safety campaigns targeting impaired or distracted drivers\, engaging with youth in the community and addressing strategic areas of the community with increased police presence. \n  \nEach year the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP ask for feedback from the community to help identify priorities and set new policing objectives. \nPlease join us at the Duncan United Church on February 15th at 6:00 pm to meet officers and share your input\, suggestions and feedback. \n“Input from those we serve is a real important part of our future planning” stated detachment commander S/Sgt.
